The Farabi Cinema Foundation has set up the umbrella of Iranian cinema at the Cannes Film Festival market in memory of the martyred children of Minab.
According to the public relations of Farabi Cinema Foundation, Farabi as in previous years has set up the umbrella of Iranian cinema at the market of the 79th Cannes Film Festival.
Due to the special circumstances of Islamic Republic of Iran, which has been affected by the imposed third war in recent months, the umbrella of Iranian cinema has been dedicated to the martyred children of Minab, and a memorial book has been provided at the pavilion in memory of these oppressed children for visitors to sign. At this pavilion, in addition to classic works from the Farabi Cinema Foundation, some works by the late Dariush Mehrjui and some new productions of the Farabi Cinema Foundation, as well as productions from the Documentary and Experimental Film Center and the Iranian Youth Cinema Society, are being presented.
In this edition of the Cannes Film Market, a series of meetings has been scheduled for some Farabi executives regarding joint cinematic collaborations with representatives of international film festivals, distribution companies, cultural centers, specialized cinema institutions, representatives of national film centers, and official cultural representatives of various countries, among others.
Negotiations aimed at achieving a co-production on the theme of commemorating the martyred students of the Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab — which gained global attention during the imposed Ramadan war — have been set as the special mission of the Farabi Cinema Foundation's pavilion at the market of the 79th Cannes International Film Festival.
